Our training courses, classes and workshops are all primarily taught by our president, Kathy Friend.  Other professionals may teach portions of the curriculum. Those individuals are members of our Board of Advisors.

Shari Brandel

Shari Braendel is one of the nation's most sought-after Christian speakers on the topic of fashion, beauty and modesty. She is the founder of the ‘Fashion Meets Faith’ conference, and the ‘Modesty Rocks’ event.  

 

Shari's book, Good Girls don't have to Dress Bad is a full color style guide for every woman. This guide is used in SII's training and certification program as a valuable tool.

 

As an authority in the field, women from around the world, from all walks of life, seek Shari’s advice. Following the Titus 2 model, she has also developed a mentoring and training program for women who want to take the message of fashion and beauty to the Christian community at large.

 

Shari has been featured on Focus on the Family, The Total Christian Television Network (TCT), K-Love, Crown Financial Network and over 50 radio stations and magazine features.

Kathy Friend

President of the Style and Image Institute

Kathy Friend is a nationally known Stylist and Image Consultant.  She serves as the President of the Style and Image Institute, is part of the Fashion Meets Faith team, and an educator with Reveal Your Dignity – a national junior fashion stylist program for young girls.  Through her workshops and consulting, she helps women to boost their confidence and find inner and outer beauty by defining and celebrating their personal style.
 

Her experience includes projects for Redbook Magazine, Wal-Mart and Kenmore.  She has been a part of several ventures in Hollywood with reality and talk TV, including projects with Warner Brothers.  Kathy has styled Red Carpet looks for industry leaders for the Oscars and the CMAs.  Her work also includes working with corporations, organizations and universities.

 

As a premier style expert, Kathy writes for several magazines and has appeared on numerous radio and television shows as a fashion expert.

Dave retired from his high pressure job in Corporate America at the age of 39. In his words, "after golfing for a few months, I got bored". He founded Crane Remodeling and Contracting.  This new company joined his love of real estate and problem solving skills.

 

Dave's background includes a partnership with an Indy Car race team in the Indy Lights series.  He has served on many community boards and committees.

 

Mr. Crane is an alum of the Kelly School of Business at Indiana University.

Nina Hershberger

Nina Hershberger is an author, teacher and the founder and owner of Mega Bucks Marketing.  Her career began as an Executive at the University of Notre Dame.  After an early retirement, Nina  began to share her concept of ‘outrageous marketing’ to increase business and own market share.  

 

With over 35 years implementing marketing strategies that work, she is known as the foremost expert to have as part of your marketing portfolio.  Her methodologies have been featured in Bill Glazer’s OUTRAGEOUS ADVERTISING as one of the best methods in the world for making, OUTRAGEOUS cash in Direct Response Marketing.

 

Nina’s methods have been seen in The New York Times, The Vancouver Sun, Fast Company, INC., SUCCESS magazine, and The Wall Street Journal.

Rebecca Maalouf

After working as a makeup artist for large corporations like Estee Lauder and Calvin Kline, Camellia Cosmetic's owner Rebecca Maalouf felt like the impossible had happened - makeup  had become boring. In January 2004, Rebecca opened Camellia Cosmetics with one main goal: bringing LIFE, fun and glamour back to women. Since opening it's doors in 2004, Camellia Cosmetics has gone on to become the area's most respected professional artist studio in Northern Indiana.

 

As a leader in the makeup artist community, Rebecca’s life has been about beauty—not her beauty—other women’s beauty. Her goal is to show every woman how to recognize and highlight her assets so she can claim her own beauty.  She has acted as the lead makeup artist for numerous photo shoots and fashion shows.  She is also the founder of Brass In Her Pocked, a blog dedicated to the beauty of women over 50.

Dana Goode
Kelly Regier

Kelly Regier is the owner of Twisted String Boutique in Granger, IN. As a lifelong pageant girl and model, Kelly brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to S&II.

Kerri's background includes over 25 years as a Master Hair Stylist, Salon Owner and Executive Trainer.  As a licensed cosmetologist and instructor,  she serves as a master colorist and regional instructor for It&ly Hair fashions. Prior to opening Kerri's Avenue Salon in 2005, she was the lead instructor and COO of Premier College of Cosmetology.

 

Her professional accomplishments include working on-set with various theatrical productions, television commercials, print photo shoots and fashion shows. She was hired to create period looks for an independent movie production.

 

Kerri has a true passion for the art and science of hair design, and loves to bring that passion to her clients. That passion is only equaled to her talent training others in the art of hair design. 

 

Dana Goode

Dana Goode is a native California girl who is known for her impeccable style and heart for her community.  After raising kids, Dana followed her dream to be a boutique owner. DD Decor quickly became known as the "go to" place for women's clothing.  She sought to bring in styles and brands that women in her community had never before seen. Her experience in the true business side of the fashion industry made her a trusted partner to many wanting to begin a career in the industry.

 

After several years of success with the boutique, Dana learned her true passion was supporting other women's dreams and organizing fundraisers.  Dana has a knack for finding a way to blend the things she loves to do.  Her expertise in organizing fashion shows, eye for couture detail and zeal for helping other women realize their dreams has put her in a position of mentor.

 

Dana lives in Bloomington, IN with her son, husband.  She works tirelessly raising money and encouraging women to pursue their own passions.
